Description: Foxy is a little over 1 year old, and while she has come an incredibly long way, she is looking for a patient home that understands her past. She and her sister Beauty were dumped behind a storage facility as puppies, living on high alert and trusting absolutely no one except for one kind woman who fed them every day. When that woman had to go through cancer treatment, it took our rescue months of patient trapping to bring Foxy to safety because she was too terrified to let anyone close. It has taken weeks of consistent love, but Foxy has turned into a very sweet, affectionate girl. She is still a little skittish in new situations, but once she knows she is safe, she is deeply loving and so grateful.

Description: Meet GG, short for Gentle Giant. This sweet, fully grown boy is a total mush who is incredibly affectionate, eager to please, and highly motivated by treats! He is friendly with other dogs and has a heart to match his name. Currently, GG is being a brave boy as he undergoes orthopedic surgery to repair a fractured and dislocated right hip. Because he needs time to rest and recover, he is not quite ready for adoption yet. However, we want to ensure he has the perfect family waiting for him the moment he gets the all-clear from the vet. We are officially accepting pre-adoption applications for GG, so he can step straight from recovery into the arms of his forever family.

He is also dog friendly, very food motivated, eager to please, and loves to learn new things! Harley is a medium-small sized dog who weighs only 33 lbs and is fully grown.

She loves playing with her toys, running around, and then curling up in her bed when she’s ready to snuggle. She gets along great with everyone she meets, including kids and other dogs, and she really enjoys being part of whatever is going on around her. Krissy also loves car rides and is always ready to hop in and head somewhere new. She will fit right in with a family who enjoys getting out and doing things, but also appreciates quiet time and cuddles at home.

Lady Bug came to Pawsitive Place Rescue after Smith County Animal Control & Shelter reached out to rescues with an urgent plea to help make space in their shelter. She is also a brave cancer survivor and is now healthy, and ready to find her forever home.
Lime

Description: On Saturday, May 16th, Lime was scheduled to be euthanized at Dallas Animal Services at 11:30 AM. His foster had to return him, the shelter was full, and suddenly his life was on the line again. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Lime has ended up back in the shelter system. He has been adopted/fostered and placed in homes that weren’t the right fit, gone through living situation changes, and experienced people realizing they weren’t fully ready for the commitment of a dog. None of this is because of anything Lime has done wrong. Just a series of repeated human failure, and each time, Lime was the one left to start over. Lime can be a little shy and overwhelmed when meeting new people or adjusting to new environments, but after everything he’s been through, we completely understand why. Once he feels comfortable, you start to see the real Lime. He gets the zoomies in the grass. He rolls onto his back when he’s happy. He proudly carries around fuzzy toys and loves curling up next to his people for couch naps. He rides great in the car, enjoys running trails, sits politely at doors, and thrives when he starts learning a routine. There is a really sweet dog hiding underneath all the stress and heartbreak shelter life has put on him. Lime needs someone kind, patient, reassuring and willing to understand that his world has been confusing and heartbreaking for a VERY long time.

Description: Maple is a 1-year-old Terrier mix who weighs only 40 lbs — the perfect size for cuddles, adventures, and couch naps. She loves exploring the yard, rolling around in the grass, carrying around her favorite tennis balls and sticks, and snuggling up in soft blankies after a long day. She also happens to be extremely photogenic and always ready for her close-up. Maple is a fun, goofy girl who will absolutely keep you smiling and protect you from negativity and bad days. She has so much personality and loves being part of the action while still being happy to curl up and relax with her people. After spending a long time in the shelter environment, Maple can be protective of her belongings, so she would do best as the only pet in the home or with an experienced handler who understands her needs and boundaries. Description: Mary is a 25 lb sweetheart (fully grown) who came to us from Smith County Animal Control & Shelter after they put out a plea for space. She is completely deaf; however, that simply means she experiences the world a little differently and it makes her even more special. Mary thrives on companionship and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. Whether it’s a family with a stay at home routine or a retired individual looking for a loyal shadow, Mary is ready to fill that role perfectly. She isn’t a fan of being alone, but give her a cozy spot near her favorite person (or a comfy couch), and she’s completely content. When it’s time to rest, Mary curls up into the tiniest little ball, it’s impossible not to smile when you see her like that. Because she is deaf, Mary will need a patient adopter who is willing to communicate with her in ways she understands.
