Sweet Girl

Description: Sweet Girl is a 2-year-old mixed breed who has been with our rescue for over a year. She was found abandoned on a busy highway and came to us with mange, covered in fleas and ticks. She is an energetic and affectionate dog who enjoys spending time outdoors. Sweet Girl loves to “talk” to you, chew on her bones, chase tennis balls, and go for car rides.
Omar

Description: Omar is a 3-year-old male Lab mix. He is already neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and a very photogenic boy. Omar is friendly with other dogs and large livestock. He adjusts quickly to new routines, and he knows how to sit and lay down. Omar will make a wonderful addition to an active home with plenty of space for him to stretch his legs and feel included.
Lady Bug

Description: Lady Bug is a sweet dog who needs a little time to feel comfortable with new people. She can be shy during her first meet-and-greets, but once she learns you come with kindness and treats, then her loyal, affectionate personality shines through. She enjoys the simple comforts in life such as soft dog beds, delicious yummy bones, and relaxing time by your side. She also loves going for walkies and exploring the world. Lady Bug came to Pawsitive Place Rescue after Smith County Animal Control & Shelter reached out to rescues with an urgent plea to help make space in their shelter. She is also a brave cancer survivor and is now healthy, and ready to find her forever home.
Mellow

Description: Mellow is a 3-year-old Shepherd mix weighing 100 lbs. Full grown. He is kennel trained, already neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. He has also previously lived in a foster home with cats. A big backyard where he can stretch his legs would be a great fit, along with someone who wouldn’t mind a cuddle buddy at the end of the day.
Cinnamon

Description: Cinnamon is approximately 6 years old and a Boxer mix. She has spent nearly half of her life in a shelter. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, heartworm negative, and kennel/potty trained. Cinnamon loves to chew on her bones, enjoys all kinds of yummy snacks, and is a big baby when it comes to pets and attention. Her favorite place to be is anywhere with air conditioning and toys. She is very much an indoor dog and does not mind being dressed in cute outfits.
Henny

Description: Henny is a beautiful 1 year old Staffie mix and a perfect medium size at 65 pounds. She is kennel trained and knows how to sit and lay down. Adele

Description: Adele is a young Belgian Malinois who is incredibly smart, deeply loyal, and very loved. She is easily one of the smartest dogs we’ve ever worked with and has an uncanny ability to figure things out. She can open doors, carabiners, and latches. Her intelligence is impressive and very true to her breed. She is the kind of dog who bonds hard with her people and takes her role as a protector seriously. Because of that, Adele truly needs to be the only dog in the home. Adele is more of a guardian than a laid back family pet. She will be completely devoted to her person and will love and protect them with everything she has. With people, she is affectionate, confident, and does well with children, she just doesn’t enjoy sharing her space with other dogs. She is very active and loves to play. Chasing a ball or frisbee is one of her favorite things, and she’s a big fan of swimming too. She has no problem putting on her life jacket and jumping into the pool. Adele is house trained, kennel trained, and fully potty trained. She does great for baths and is happiest chewing on her favorite bones. She is fully vetted and has had a preventative stomach tack, which speaks to just how athletic she is. Adele can easily clear 10 feet in the air. This girl is all about movement, purpose, and adventure. Adele is looking for an experienced, committed home that understands the Malinois breed and is excited about having a loyal, protective companion. In the right environment, she will be an incredible partner and a once in a lifetime dog.
Mary

Description: Mary is a 1-year-old, fully grown 25 lb Terrier mix. She is completely deaf, which simply means she experiences the world a little differently and makes her even more special. Mary thrives on companionship and wants to be right by your side, whether she is playing in the pool or riding shotgun in the car. Because she loves being included and isn't a fan of being alone, she would do best with a retired individual or a family with a stay-at-home routine. When it’s time to rest, she curls up into the tiniest little ball. Because she is deaf, Mary will need a patient adopter willing to communicate with her using visual cues.
Angel

Age: Adult
Description: Angel is a 55 lb Shepherd mix who came to our rescue from Smith County Animal Control & Shelter. She is a beautiful, loyal, and loving girl who is kennel and potty trained. She loves treats, and if she could be anywhere, it would be spending time playing in the water/pool. Angel will need time to decompress and adjust to her new surroundings after being in the shelter. We do not expect her to immediately show her full personality in a new home, and giving her time, patience, and a consistent routine will be important as she settles in.
