Description: Maple is a 1-year-old Terrier mix who weighs only 45 lbs — the perfect size for cuddles, adventures, and couch naps. She loves exploring the yard, rolling around in the grass, carrying around her favorite tennis balls and sticks, and snuggling up in soft blankies after a long day. She also happens to be extremely photogenic and always ready for her close-up. Maple is a fun, goofy girl who will absolutely keep you smiling and protect you from negativity and bad days. She has so much personality and loves being part of the action while still being happy to curl up and relax with her people. After spending a long time in the shelter environment, Maple can be protective of her belongings, so she would do best as the only pet in the home or with an experienced handler who understands her needs and boundaries. Description: Beauty is a little over 1 year old and just like her sister Foxy, she is looking for a patient forever home that understands she needs a little time to adjust and build confidence. After being dumped behind a storage facility as a puppy, she grew up fearing the world and trusting absolutely no one except for the one kind woman who fed her every day. When that woman had to go through cancer treatment, Beauty was too terrified to let anyone near her, and it took our rescue months of patient trapping just to bring her to safety. It has taken a lot of consistent love and patience since then, but Beauty has turned into a very sweet, affectionate girl. She is still a little skittish and timid in new situations, but she goes out of her way to show her gratitude once she feels safe.
Foxy

Description: Foxy is a little over 1 year old, and while she has come an incredibly long way, she is looking for a patient home that understands her past. She and her sister Beauty were dumped behind a storage facility as puppies, living on high alert and trusting absolutely no one except for one kind woman who fed them every day. When that woman had to go through cancer treatment, it took our rescue months of patient trapping to bring Foxy to safety because she was too terrified to let anyone close. It has taken weeks of consistent love, but Foxy has turned into a very sweet, affectionate girl. She is still a little skittish in new situations, but once she knows she is safe, she is deeply loving and so grateful.

Description: Coral is a 2 year old Heeler mix who is both house trained and kennel trained. While she is not a high-energy dog in the sense that she needs to run miles every day, she possesses an incredibly strong working drive. She craves mental stimulation, loves having a job to do, and thrives when she is actively focused on a task. True to her breed, Coral is aloof, wary of strangers, and is not a traditionally social or friendly dog. Because of this, she strictly requires an experienced owner who fundamentally understands cattle dog behavior and can confidently manage her drive. Coral will need a home with ample space where she has a dedicated job to fulfill her natural instincts.

Description: On Saturday, May 16th, Lime was scheduled to be euthanized at Dallas Animal Services at 11:30 AM. His foster had to return him, the shelter was full, and suddenly his life was on the line again. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Lime has ended up back in the shelter system. He has been adopted/fostered and placed in homes that weren’t the right fit, gone through living situation changes, and experienced people realizing they weren’t fully ready for the commitment of a dog. None of this is because of anything Lime has done wrong. Just a series of repeated human failure, and each time, Lime was the one left to start over. Lime can be a little shy and overwhelmed when meeting new people or adjusting to new environments, but after everything he’s been through, we completely understand why. Once he feels comfortable, you start to see the real Lime. He gets the zoomies in the grass. He rolls onto his back when he’s happy. He proudly carries around fuzzy toys and loves curling up next to his people for couch naps. He rides great in the car, enjoys running trails, sits politely at doors, and thrives when he starts learning a routine. There is a really sweet dog hiding underneath all the stress and heartbreak shelter life has put on him. Lime needs someone kind, patient, reassuring and willing to understand that his world has been confusing and heartbreaking for a VERY long time.
