Description: Mary is a 35 lb sweetheart (fully grown) who came to us from Smith County Animal Control & Shelter after they put out a plea for space. She is completely deaf; however, that simply means she experiences the world a little differently and it makes her even more special. Mary thrives on companionship and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. Whether it’s a family with a stay at home routine or a retired individual looking for a loyal shadow, Mary is ready to fill that role perfectly. She isn’t a fan of being alone, but give her a cozy spot near her favorite person (or a comfy couch), and she’s completely content. When it’s time to rest, Mary curls up into the tiniest little ball, it’s impossible not to smile when you see her like that. Because she is deaf, Mary will need a patient adopter who is willing to communicate with her in ways she understands. In return, the bond you build with her will be something truly extraordinary.

Description: Valerie is a 2 year old Terrier mix with a gentle, laid back personality (who still loves her playtime when the mood strikes). She gets along well with other dogs and is both potty trained and kennel trained. Valerie loves nothing more than curling up with her favorite blankets and settling in for a cozy cuddle on the sofa. She is fully up to date on her vaccines and has already been spayed. Valerie came to Pawsitive Place Rescue after being dumped, suffering from severe skin allergies and full of worms. Today she is a very healthy and affectionate girl looking for a family that will never leave her behind again.

Description: After being attacked by four other dogs, this resilient boy has every reason to be fearful, but instead he has chosen love. His brave, forgiving heart truly lives up to his name. Braveheart is a 2 year old Pyrador (Great Pyrenees/Labrador Retriever mix). He loves to cuddle, soaks up affection, and has the most gentle, laid back nature. He is friendly with other dogs and does well with children. For such a young guy, he has wonderful manners. He’s doing great with potty training and is walking confidently on a leash like a pro. He also enjoys chewing on his bones and snuggling into his blankets. A yard where he can stretch out in the sunshine and a few cozy spots to lounge would make him one happy dog!

Description: Adele is a young Belgian Malinois who is incredibly smart, deeply loyal, and very loved. She is easily one of the smartest dogs we’ve ever worked with and has an uncanny ability to figure things out. She can open doors, carabiners, and latches. Her intelligence is impressive and very true to her breed. She is the kind of dog who bonds hard with her people and takes her role as a protector seriously. Because of that, Adele truly needs to be the only dog in the home. Adele is more of a guardian than a laid back family pet. She will be completely devoted to her person and will love and protect them with everything she has. With people, she is affectionate, confident, and does well with children, she just doesn’t enjoy sharing her space with other dogs. She is very active and loves to play. Chasing a ball or frisbee is one of her favorite things, and she’s a big fan of swimming too. She has no problem putting on her life jacket and jumping into the pool. Adele is house trained, kennel trained, and fully potty trained. She does great for baths and is happiest chewing on her favorite bones. She is fully vetted and has had a preventative stomach tack, which speaks to just how athletic she is. Adele can easily clear 10 feet in the air. This girl is all about movement, purpose, and adventure. Adele is looking for an experienced, committed home that understands the Malinois breed and is excited about having a loyal, protective companion. In the right environment, she will be an incredible partner and a once in a lifetime dog.

Rufus truly enjoys being part of daily life and bonds quickly with those around him. He is fully house, kennel, and potty trained, and he adapts easily to new routines. He loves going for walks, playing fetch with a tennis ball, chewing on his favorite bones, and entertaining himself with squeaky toys. After being hit by a car, Rufus underwent orthopedic surgery to repair his hip and has made an excellent recovery.
