Description: Lincoln is a 2 year old Great Pyrenees/Collie mix who has already lived a lifetime’s worth of hardship. He was found as a stray after a group of concerned neighbors contacted us for help. The mayor had put out a notice discouraging residents from feeding local stray dogs unless they planned to take responsibility for them. Lincoln and his companion, Abraham, were at risk as some neighbors threatened to “handle” the situation themselves due to the lack of local animal control resources.
When we found Lincoln, it was clear he needed urgent medical care. Our vet determined that his missing leg wasn’t the result of a clean injury, it had been traumatically torn off, leaving bone exposed and causing unimaginable pain. Lincoln has since undergone a full amputation surgery and has made a remarkable recovery. Today, he moves comfortably and confidently.
Despite everything he’s endured, Lincoln is one of the most gentle, forgiving dogs you’ll ever meet. He is wonderful with kids, cats, and other animals, and he absolutely loves being part of a family environment. He is potty trained, well mannered in the house, and happiest when he’s close to his people.
