5K Miles for Mutts

By registering for and participating in the 5K Miles for Mutts event, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

I understand that participation in this event is voluntary and involves inherent risks, including but not limited to running, walking, outdoor terrain, weather conditions, interaction with participants, animals, vehicles, and unforeseen hazards that may result in personal injury, illness, property damage, disability, or death.

I certify that I, and any minor children or dogs accompanying me, are physically able to participate and assume full responsibility for determining our fitness to participate. I understand that no medical evaluation has been provided by the event organizers.

I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation and the participation of any guests, minor children, or animals under my care.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless Pawsitive Place Rescue, Hollywood Feed, all event sponsors, volunteers, vendors, property owners, the City of Tyler, event organizers, employees, officers, directors, agents, affiliates, and their respective representatives from any and all claims, demands, liabilities, causes of action, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising out of or relating to my participation in the event, including claims arising from ordinary negligence.

I understand that I am solely responsible for all medical expenses, veterinary expenses, property damage, or other costs resulting from my participation or the participation of any person or animal accompanying me.

If bringing a dog, I certify that my dog is properly vaccinated as required by law, is under my control at all times using a leash no longer than six (6) feet, is not known to be aggressive, and that I accept full responsibility for any injury, damage, or loss caused by my dog.

I grant permission for event organizers and emergency personnel to obtain emergency medical treatment for me if necessary. I understand that I am solely responsible for any resulting medical costs.

I grant permission to the event organizers to use photographs, video recordings, or other media containing my likeness, and the likeness of any minor child accompanying me, taken during the event for promotional, educational, fundraising, or marketing purposes without compensation.

I have carefully read this waiver, fully understand its contents, and acknowledge that by checking the acceptance box, I am giving up certain legal rights, including the right to sue.
